AP-navy-seal-jt-170415_31x13_1600

The Navy is investigating a decorated SEAL who moonlights as a porn actor.

The Naval Special Warfare Command wants to know whether Chief Special Warfare Officer Joseph Schmidt III properly obtained permission from his commanders for outside work and whether they condoned his acting career, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported Friday (http://bit.ly/2ozyWLt).

“There are very clear regulations which govern outside employment … as well as prohibitions on behavior that is discrediting to the service,” said Capt. Jason Salata, a SEALs spokesman.

Judge shot to death in Chicago, manhunt on for suspect

Chicago police are searching for a gunman who they say shot and killed a Cook County, Illinois, criminal court judge this morning outside his home on the city’s South Side.

First Deputy Superintendent of Police Kevin Navarro this morning called Judge Raymond Myles’ death “another senseless act of violence.”

Chief of Detectives Melissa Staples said the shooting happened shortly before 5 a.m. A woman, described by Staples as a “close associate” of Myles’, walked out of his home, exchanged words with the gunman, was shot once and suffered a non-life-threatening injury, Staples said.

Myles, 66, heard the commotion and the gunshot, went outside to investigate, exchanged words with the gunman and was shot multiple times, Staples said.AP-Judge-Slain-01-rc-170410_4x3_992

The suspect then fled on foot, the injured woman told police.

Staples said that police do not know whether Myles was the intended target and that it was a “potential robbery.”

After Syria strike, populist supporters abandon Trump at home and abroad

Four Civilians Killed by US Airstrikes in Syria's Deir Ezzor

While much of the world is applauding President Donald Trump’s decision to strike a Syrian airbase in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack against civilians, right-wing populist supporters at home and abroad are criticizing the move and distancing themselves from him.

Nigel Farage, the pro-Brexit leader, aligned himself with Trump during last year’s campaign, spoke at his rallies and was among the first to meet with him after his election. On Friday morning, however, he said he was “very surprised” by the Syria action.
“I think a lot of Trump voters will be waking up this morning and scratching their heads and saying, ‘Where will it all end?’” he said. “As a firm Trump supporter, I say, yes, the pictures were horrible, but I’m surprised,” Farage continued, arguing that in a region riven by Islamic extremism, “whatever Assad’s sins, he is secular.”
Farage’s comments captured the wave of right-wing anger and frustration that followed the US strike — and they pointed up an odd reversal.

WikiLeaks Leaked Bombshell Information On Hillary Clinton!

WikiLeaks has revealed that Hillary Clinton told Goldman Sachs bankers that legalization of marijuana will not happen on her watch.

WikiLeaks has been the most important thing that has happened to an election in a long time. We’ve been able to catch glimpses of the real nature of politicians and bureaucrats like never before, and see the state of democracy for what it is: a once mighty oak ravaged by white ants.

In Hillary Clinton, we see a figure beholden to Wall St., working diligently to advance the influence of financial corporations over government policy and taxpayer money. Her mega-donor list is a who’s who of megabanks that also happened to benefit from the TARP government bailout.

Rockefeller Breaks World Record For Most Heart Transplants At 101

The world’s oldest billionaire David Rockefeller has beaten the world record for having the most heart transplants at the age of 101.rockefeller-heart-transplant-696x330

The 2016 International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation states that patients should be 70-years-old or younger to be considered for cardiac transplantation, and even then, these patients are carefully selected based on their current health, including BMI (body mass index). This recent heart transplant comes after David’s last one failed a couple weeks ago.

According to the Gift of Life Donor Program, “there are more than 122,000 people waiting for much-needed organs,” (including of course, hearts). There are not enough organs to go around, and those who are in need of a transplant must follow the rules that dictate the waiting list, which is managed by the United Network for Organ sharing (UNOS). Special allowances are sometimes made for children, however according to the Donor Program, “Factors such as a patient’s income, celebrity status, and race or ethnic background play no role in determining allocation of organs.”

Our Age Of Folly. America Abandons its Democracy

iraq-war-flag

The United States has been growing progressively insane for a long time. For my generation, the realization descended upon us in the 1960s when the military/security complex convinced Americans that if we permitted Vietnamese nationalist leader Ho Chi Minh to unify Vietnam, the dominoes would fall until the Communist World Revolution had us in its grip. This despite the fact that Stalin had killed off the Trotskyist world revolutionaries and declared “Socialism in one country.”

Nationalists in the West’s colonies, such as Vietnam and Cuba, misinterpreted the talk about making the world safe for self-determination as applying to them. Ho Chi Minh helped the US against Japan during World War 2. His requests for US help for Vietnamese independence from France were cold-shouldered by the Truman administration. He did not turn against the US until Washington turned against him.

America’s participation in the Vietnam War lasted for a decade or thereabouts. The extraordinary carnage and war crimes served no interest other than the power and profit of the military/security complex and the paranoia of the arbiters of US foreign policy.

WikiLeaks fallout: Should you worry about alleged CIA hacks?

456786543-768x515

NEW YORK (AP) — So, you use messaging apps like WhatsApp or Signal or have smart TVs and PCs. Should you worry that the CIA is listening to your conversations?

The short answer is no. The long answer is maybe, though it’s still unlikely you need to be too concerned.

WikiLeaks revelations describing secret CIA hacking tools allegedly used to break into computers, mobile phones and even smart TVs could certainly have real-life implications for anyone using internet-connected technology. In particular, the WikiLeaks documents suggest the CIA has attempted to turn TVs into listening devices and to circumvent — though not crack — message apps that employ protective data scrambling.

But for people weary of a seemingly constant revelations of hacks, government spying and security worries, the news came as no surprise.

Fear is sweeping across the world as a new video game called ‘Blue Whale’ is emerging as a trend and involves players dying. The game is appearing on social media sites, primarily in Russia, where fears are rising and spreading to the Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as the online games are driving teenagers to commit suicide. The game is known by a few names which include, Siniy Kit (A blue whale), Tikhiy Dom (A quiet house/a silent house), More kitov (a sea/a bunch of whales), and Razbudi menya V 4:20 (Wake up me 4.20am), according to reports. At the moment, it is currently unknown where and when this specific gaming trend began online, although Russia’s Investigative Committee recently announced an arrest linked to the game, which was discovered on the VKontakte social network. Svetlana Petrenko, a spokesperson for Russia’s Investigative Committee, told TASS that after the investigation, a criminal case on the charges of instigating suicide was launched. RBTH reports,

Trump claims Obama wiretapped him during campaign; Obama refutes it

U.S. President Donald Trump accused predecessor Barack Obama on Saturday of wiretapping him during the late stages of the 2016 election campaign, but offered no evidence for an allegation which an Obama spokesman said was “simply false”.

Trump made the accusation in a series of early morning tweets just weeks into his administration and amid rising scrutiny of his campaign’s ties to Russia.

“How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!,” Trump wrote in one tweet. “I’d bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!”

Twitter rolls out more anti-harassment measures — like automating Twitter jail

Twitter continues to try to be a nicer place to tweet.

New updates announced on Wednesday aim to limit the visibility of abusive posts, and will automatically block the spread of harmful content. Twitter (TWTR, Tech30) is also expanding the mute and filter features, and will now notify users when the company takes action on harassment they reported, even if it’s not directed at them.

Twitter is implementing tools that can automatically identify patterns in the way harmful tweets are made and distributed. If it identifies a harmful account, it will truncate the user’s visibility.

For instance, if a user routinely replies to accounts that don’t follow it, or repeatedly violates Twitter’s rules, Twitter might make it so that the tweets are invisible to everyone except the user’s followers for a set amount of time. Twitter users who have already experienced this in tests are calling it “Twitter jail.”
